Andrew and Casey met at Ferrum College. They lived just a few doors apart but somehow didn’t talk for a whole semester. Their first real meeting happened when they walked into their dorm at the same time. Boom. Love… or at least eye contact. For months, they passed each other around campus offering nothing more than a polite “hello,” the kind of greeting you give someone you definitely think is cute but are too afraid to actually talk to. Eventually, Andrew decided it was time for a grand romantic gesture… and by “grand,” we mean he showed up with a 20-piece Chicken McNugget. And honestly? That was it. Casey was sold. Who needs roses? They started hanging out at Ferrum’s tiny late-night parties with their friends. They cheered each other on at soccer and baseball games. Andrew cheered a little too loudly—loud enough that Casey sometimes pretended she didn’t know him. It’s hard to date an enthusiastic air horn disguised as a human. But love conquers all. During nursing school, Andrew became Casey’s rock—aka the person who listened to ranting, stress-crying, and the kind of late-night delirium only nursing students truly understand. In 2022 they crossed the stage and graduated together—another milestone shared side by side. After college, life took them into adulthood, and eventually Andrew made the move to North Carolina. Together they bought their first home and began filling it with memories… and, according to Andrew, way too many vacations. Casey, of course, insists that the world is just too big not to see it all. On one of those allegedly excessive vacations—this time in Scotland—Andrew got down on one knee. For Andrew, the moment felt like 47 minutes. Casey experienced immediate tunnel vision, slight blackout, and shock so strong she may or may not have forgotten how to breathe (thank goodness for the pictures). But eventually she managed to squeak out a “yes!” Now they’re knee-deep in wedding planning, still laughing, still traveling, and beyond excited to finally celebrate with all the people they love most.
