Catherine was a senior in college and had a gym trainer at Fit Factory. Her former trainer had gotten fired for not showing up to client sessions and she was assigned a new trainer. The first session she was convinced he wasn’t going to show up, which is ironic because that’s the last thing Adam would do to anyone. He told her he was from Kentucky and she thought he was lying for quite some time, but they hit it off and became friends. They started hanging out outside of the gym and in March Catherine finally gave in to giving him a chance. She’s very glad she did(:
Adam and Catherine were on their 4th day in Iceland and headed to the black sand beach. It was so windy that they had to hold the car doors so they wouldn’t fly open, but for some reason Adam was keen on going for a walk on the beach. In true Catherine fashion, she was complaining because the sand was whipping everywhere and Adam’s response was “I thought you loved walking. Let’s keep going.” We stopped further away from the crowds and were just taking in the views. Catherine asked where Adam’s favorite place was and he said “here.” He got down on one knee and completely surprised her. It was so cold he couldn’t even open the ring box and Catherine couldn’t actually believe it was happening. Of course she said yes. Later that day after taking in more views, they went to a glass dome in the middle of a field. Catherine had asked the airbnb hosts to make it special to celebrate Adam’s 30 birthday, having no idea she would show up engaged, so there were rose petals and Icelandic beer waiting for us to celebrate. That night we got to watch the Northern Lights put on an incredible show from our little dome and it was absolutely magical.
