How all good things start: at The Backer in South Bend, IN after an Irish win! Luke and Claire were standing by each other during a football game senior year and Luke had mentioned he had never been to the Backer (which is absolutely crazy). Naturally, Claire invited him to come with her after the game, since she never missed a night out at the Backer after a home game. They hit it off right away, and within a few weeks, he asked her to be his girlfriend!

After Luke bought the ring and drove to Michigan to ask her parents for their blessings, he planned a surprise trip to Disney (Claire had never been to Disney)! He planned every detail of the trip- even scheduled covid testing in order to return to work. They spent all day on Saturday at Magic Kingdom and Epcot, hitting every single ride, before going to dinner and watching an insane light show on the lake. On the walk home from dinner, he popped the question along the lake. It was the most magical weekend ever!
