FAQs

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Please arrive between 3:30 and 3:45. Our ceremony begins promptly at 4:00 and we'd like to ensure everyone is seated and settled before we begin.

Question

Is there parking?

Answer

Our celebration will take place at a private residence in Gilbert. Street parking is available, but we ask that you please park east of the house and keep the area directly in front of the home clear. If possible, we also encourage ridesharing or carpooling to help minimize congestion in the neighborhood, and of course please avoid parking in front of driveways and mailboxes.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Cocktail attire. Our celebration will take place outdoors, including on grass, so please keep that in mind when choosing shoes and bring a layer for the evening. For those who love a color palette, our wedding colors are inspired by an Arizona autumn: dusty rose, apricot, terracotta, warm gold, sage greens, and rich earthy neutrals. There is absolutely no need to match, just a little inspiration if that's your thing!

Question

Can I bring additional guests?

Answer

Due to the intimate size of our celebration, we are only able to accomodate guests specifically included on your invitation.

Question

What is the deadline to RSVP?

Answer

Please reply by October 15th. Please use our online form to RSVP.

Question

Can I change my RSVP or meal selection?

Answer

Please contact us directly with any changes.

Question

Can I share photos on social media?

Answer

Absolutely! We’d love to see the day through your eyes. We just ask that you please don’t post photos of children in attendance unless they’re your own. We want to respect each family’s privacy and leave that choice to their parents.

Question

What's the food and drink situation?

Answer

A cocktail hour with drinks and appetizers will follow the ceremony, with dinner served around sunset and dessert a little later in the evening. The main entrée will be tamales from The Tamale Store, one of our favorite local vendors from our Saturday morning farmers markets. Your RSVP will ask you to choose one tamale, but don’t worry, you’re welcome to go back and try a second!

Question

What are you most excited for? (Besides getting married)

Answer

As we were in the beginning stages of planning, we realized how lucky we are to be part of several communities that have allowed us to choose friends as vendors. Our photographer, florist, planner, and HMUA are all friends from Denise's years photographing weddings. Our musicians come from the string community Kayden and Denise have been part of, and our officiant is a dear friend Denise has known for decades, and who was Kayden's violin teacher for nine years. Our caterer is a fellow farmers market vendor and friend, and even our venue is the home of friends who have hosted Christmas parties, pumpkin carving parties, and gatherings over the years. Every little corner of the day feels special because it's being brought to life by someone we know and love. If you're traveling from our of town, or even from the other side of the Phoenix valley, thank you for coming, we can't wait to share our day with you!

Question

Tell us about the proposal!

Answer

Denise here! I'm going to tell this story from my perspective. Raffi & I had been wanting to go out to his hometown of Minneapolis for years, & we finally got to go last summer. We flew in & immediately drove to Duluth to spend two days exploring Raffi's college town. We were going to eat at his favorite restaurant, Duluth Grill, then go to the Duluth Rose Garden, then visit Third Street Bakery, & take a campus tour. Then were going to visit friends on Park Point & end the day with dinner at Va Bene. I was off to an incredibly slow start, & Raffi didn't seem anxious or anything. We went to breakfast & I was really just slow moving, I wanted to pop into a shop across the way, walk around, look at the plants... Then we went to the rose garden & there was a gazebo overlooking the lake. It was so beautiful & I ran over and said "It's like Twilight!" & I pulled up the song (Flightless Bird) on my phone & pressed play. Soon after, I noticed a photographer taking photos of what I thought was the gazebo. I looked over at him & said "Did you want us to move?" & he said no. So I told Raffi "We should probably go, this photographer is trying to take photos of the gazebo." Then Raffi got down on one knee! And for a moment, I literally thought "What are you doing, this photographer really needs to take photos of the gazebo." I guess that was just my own photographer brain, but it took me a second to realize, he was there for us! Raffi had a beautiful speech prepared, & everything was so perfect, & I had also unintentionally made it a little Twilight themed... The photographer was a friend of Raffi's from college, & he spent some time taking photos of us at the garden. I also realized that my slow moving morning had absolutely kept the photographer waiting! Oops! The rest of the day was perfect. We skipped rocks on lake superior, explored Duluth, watched the bridge, and toasted with friends on Park Point. Thank you to Max Craven for being there to document the day! ♥
