Emma + Alex

In her senior year working at the on-campus gym, Emma couldn't help but notice the reserved guy from Intramurals, who, technically, she supervised—though Alex will never admit it. During their work's Friendsgiving, Emma decided to make a move. Would you believe it if we told you it didn't go as planned? Little did she know, after the night, Alex discreetly started asking around about her. One Thursday evening at work, Emma needed to check in on Alex. They struck up a conversation, mostly one-sided (but are we surprised coming from the shy guy?). Emma discovered that Alex was going out, so she quickly texted her friend under the table: "We're going to Brothers tonight - no excuses." Before the night ended, they exchanged contact information, though, let's face it, Emma initiated that too. The girls called an Uber to head home, but unexpectedly, Alex joined the ride. To this day, he insists it was merely a free ride home. That night, Alex went to Emma's place (don't worry, it's a G-rated story). We watched Shrek and The Grinch, and, as cliché as it sounds, we haven't left each other's sides since. We enjoyed a fantastic four years in Milwaukee, creating unforgettable memories. However, as that chapter closed, another significant decision was made—no, not a proposal, but the addition of our beloved dog, Ivy. With Ivy in the picture, everyone assumed an engagement was on the horizon, especially after a professional photoshoot of the trio a few months after getting her. But lo and behold, the photoshoot came and went (without a ring). In early 2023, Emma and Alex compiled a list of goals for the year, including the dream of buying our first house together. Little did we know that, within a few months, we'd achieve that goal. We were excited to begin this new chapter as homeowners, but one question still lingered: “When will the proposal happen?!” Six months after moving into our house, while at Devils Lake with Ivy by our side, Alex finally popped the question on one of the bluffs overlooking the lake. It was a perfect moment for just the two of us and Ivy. Friends and family, who had not so eagerly awaited this moment, celebrated with us upon our return home. Our journey is far from over, and we are thrilled to embark on the next chapters as husband and wife. Grateful for the love and support of friends and family, we look forward to celebrating with everyone.
