Groom's & Bride's Attire
The tradition of dressing the bride and groom at their home is one of Cyprus’s enduring wedding customs. The best man and maid of honor are responsible for preparing the couple, accompanied by violin and lute music and specific traditional songs. This process includes the groom’s shaving, the couple’s adornment, the use of a belt, and the ritual of smoking and dancing with the clothes. These customs are traditionally performed before the religious ceremony, always accompanied by traditional Cypriot music.
