She made the first move...

One day in May 2009

We have seen each other a few times at the gym but didn't think anything of it....I worked there, while he trained there. Things changed when he happened to be in the same body building competition as my boss. I went to support my boss and then saw him...He came out onto the stage with nothing but a little speedo bottom on. I remembered how confident he looked as he came out dancing and showing off his oiled up muscles. The next week I was at the gym with my girlfriend when he came in to workout. My girlfriend and I were in mid-conversation when my body decided to walk straight up to him before my mind even knew what was going on. I went on to tell him how well he did at the competition and asked for his number to give to my boss....which I never did. I texted him and we went from there. If anyone knows me, they know I am a very shy person and that this was not something I would typically do, so in my mind, I knew he was the one.

But he did the Proposing

June 1st, 2019

There were hints that a proposal was happening in the near future...I mean we were together for 10 years so obviously there had to be some discussion about it. We were scheduled to go down to Texas for a Gray family reunion in two months and I figured, if he was going to do it soon it would be then. I had this idea stuck in my head for so long that I was completely thrown off. We did a two night camping trip with some friends to Ricketts Glen State Park which is known for its beautiful waterfalls, the biggest being 94 feet high. After our first night camping in the tent we woke up prepared to go on a hike to the largest waterfall. He asked me if I wanted to take a shower before our hike and I said, "No, I don't want to shower...why would I want to do that?" We hiked for about 30 minutes taking pictures along the way before we came to the 94 foot waterfall. He asked if I wanted to take a "picture" in front of it and of course I did. Our friends took what I thought was a picture but was really a video to capture the moment. The "picture" felt like forever and I could feel every one of his back muscles shaking beneath my hand. I thought, is it really that cold, he never shakes like this. After the "picture" was taken he turned me toward him for what I thought was a kiss so I went in to give him one but he wouldn't let me. He held my hands down, starred me straight in the eyes and said, "You know how much I love you right?" And I lost it! After my initial word, NO, because I was so surprised, I said, "YES!" Can't wait to see you in Barnesville!!
