We met thanks to my best friend and his younger sister who at the time was preparing for her Quinceañera and asked us to be part of her court of honor. Traditionally the court of honor performs a choreographed dance during the festivities and so It was during the initial rehearsal for this dance that I first saw Arasely and thought to myself “man she is something special.” She had these beautiful green/blue eyes and a wonderful smile; i just had to meet her. We were formally introduced and it was here during these dance rehearsals we had the first opportunity to get to know each other; problem was it was only here we had a small window of opportunity to talk as we were both fairly young, her 14 I 17 and she came from a strict household so she would have to rush home soon after rehearsals ended. This wasnt necessarily a bad thing though as it left me curious wanting to know more about her. As time carried on we developed a friendship into our young adulthood that would last the test of time. We weren’t able to see each other as often as we would have liked to for various circumstances of life but the moments we did share with eachother made them just that much more special. That friendship in adulthood eventually blossomed into a loving romance and now we’re here headed to the altar !
I had been brainstorming day in & day out on ways I would propose. I thought well maybe we can go on a nice vacation and I could pop the question then and there but as life would have it certain events occurred that prevented that from happening. After finally purchasing the ring, having it front & center I could’nt help but picture in my head how beautiful it would look on her finger. At this point I thought to myself with excitement “I don’t care where I propose I just want to do it now !” I decided what better place to ask her to be my wife than right here at home with the help of a beautiful sunset backdrop on the beach. I was a complete nervous wreck the whole day. I took her out for a nice dinner up the coast and on our way back home I asked her if we could “spontaneously” stop by the beach for a while to get some fresh air. After taking a stroll down the shore I could hardly concentrate on whatever it is we were conversing about as I only had one thing on my mind! As the moment finally came I decided it’s now or never ! I took a knee and uttered those four words “will you marry me?” I was overwhelmed with emotion and excitement ! She said “YES!!” It was an indescribable feeling. I decided i didnt want this moment photographed or recorded as nothing could ever recapture the moment just as perfect as i would remember it. One of the best days of my life
