We’re Getting Married!!

Our story began on December 6th, 2024, meeting just before the day of our best friends’ wedding. We were both standing by their sides, celebrating two people who had been childhood friends to each of us, completely unaware that we were about to start our own love story. At the time, Mikala lived in Colorado and Maverick was in Texas. He didn’t ask her to dance at the wedding, so he had to redeem himself somehow… which he did by asking her out the moment she came home for Christmas. One date turned into hours of talking and dreaming, perched on top of a grain bin, where we quickly realized we had found something real. Love made the distance feel small. By February, Mikala decided to move back to Texas, and by May she was home for good, with long visits and weekend flights in between. Since then, we’ve explored the world together, from the mountains of Colorado and the streets of Vancouver to the beaches of Punta Cana and the bright lights of Vegas and Nashville. Every trip has given us new memories, endless laughter, and a deeper love for each other. With every adventure, big or small, we’ve felt our connection grow stronger and our joy multiply. Through it all, our shared love for Christ has been the foundation of our relationship. Faith has guided every step we’ve taken and has been at the center of the peace, joy, and purpose that we found together. We are also incredibly grateful for the families who raised us, supported us, and welcomed each other with open arms from the very beginning. Their love, prayers, and enthusiasm have shaped who we are and continues to surround our relationship with strength and encouragement. Knowing we get to join our families and build our own one day is one of the things we look forward to most. We are so excited to take this next step together and can’t wait to become husband and wife. Celebrating our marriage surrounded by the people we love most, with God at the center of it all, is something we’ve prayed for and dreamed about.
