We met at our first "big kid jobs" after college and the military . We started out as friends/coworkers and would hang out and talk here and there. This all changed when Dino got into a motorcycle accident and Raechel nursed him back to life. He was in pretty bad shape but got lucky because the accident could have been much worse. From there, we realized how much we both cared for each other and the rest is history! We quickly moved into an apartment together and realized we make a great pair. A year later, we own a home, two cats, a dog, 27 fish, and two turtles. We wouldn't have our lives any other way. We are so excited to spend our lives together in this amazing, crazy world!
We were on our way to a friend's wedding in Palmdale. We were both dressed up and excited for the wedding. Dino was driving and I was in the car doing my makeup. As we got towards Santa Monica, I noticed we were going the wrong way and told Dino. He convinced me that we were just avoiding traffic and of course, I believed him. As we approached Long Beach, I told him "we are for sure going the wrong way, we are going to be late for the wedding", and Dino said "maybe we aren't going to the wedding, maybe I wanted to take you somewhere for Valentine's day". Surprised, I started asking a million questions and all Dino told me was to get the go-pro from the back seat and to hook it up to my phone. I thought, great, he is going to make me jump out of a plane... in a dress! My panic set in, but I knew I would be okay because if I was jumping, so was he. We ended up at the helicopter pad where we went on a helicopter ride over the ocean for our one year anniversary. I was still convinced we were jumping out of planes as I knew they offered skydiving there. We took a golf cart to a helicopter and boarded and I thought OMG, maybe we don't have to jump, maybe this is just a ride. I looked at Dino and said "we have been here before", and he said "yes, you loved it", which was true. We got up in the air and he popped the question over the ocean. I was in disbelief and we were both in tears. As we landed, our family and friends came running out onto the helicopter pad with balloons and flowers. It could not have been more perfect! I sure am one lucky girl!
