Many of you know this, but in case you don't - buckle up. June of 2018: Rae is living in her hometown of Fresno, CA (Clovis to be exact). She decides to get on Bumble as a joke with a friend and sets her radius to 100 miles to cast a wiiiiiide net (if you know, you know its slim pickins in Fresno). Marco flies into Fresno en route to a close friend's (Hi Johnathan and Maddie) wedding in Yosemite National Park (approx 60 miles from Rae's house) and swipes away. They match on Bumble and he is the first guy to actually get Rae's number off of the app. After some flirty banter, Marco tells Rae he is from Texas. GREAT. They never actually meet up, but kept in touch via text and Instagram. The pandemic happens and Marco's brother gets sick (love you Sergio) - Marco and Rae start talking more frequently, cuz moral support. Rae moves to Denver in 2020 cuz why not and Marco moves to San Antonio to be closer to his family there. January 2021- Marco flies to Denver to visit a friend and invites Rae to breakfast. They meet for the first time IN PERSON ever! Rae was late to breakfast and Marco won't let her forget it. February 2021- Rae tries to visit Marco in SA since she's never been to Texas and gets COVID and has to cancel her flight. March 2021- Rae flies to San Antonio and Marco shows her all the cool spots. Rae starts to think Texas might be pretty dang nice. April- summer 2021- Marco and Rae confess feelings for eachother but try to set boundaries since they live in separate states. It doesn't work. Marco gave Rae an ultimatum and tried to break it off if they couldn't live in the same vicinity. Rae freaked out and realized she needed to give it a shot or she'd regret it forever. Special thanks to Ali for encouraging her to just do it (love you) August 2021- Marco flies to Denver and they drive Rae's Ruby the Suby to San Antonio. July 2024- We've been together for 3 years and have 2 dogs. We take a trip with some of our best friends to the desert of West Texas and Marco asked Rae to marry him. Neither of us would have thought that the power of the Internet would have connected us. We would never have met otherwise. Thank you, Bumble!!!! Now lets PARTY!
