He was always her sisters friend until they grew up and went to college. One summer, summer 2015, they ran into each other at a camp training and she was all "whoa baby, you grew up!" Long story short: they flirted at camp, went on a "non-first" date where she cried (because of the sad movie, not him) and he didn't know what to do. He convinced her to do long distance after summer ended and they decided they liked each other enough to continue dating! A little while later, at a bookstore in Fairhaven, they told each other they loved each other.
It was their 3 year dating anniversary. They went to dinner, had ice cream, general merriment. She suggested to go watch the sunset and he agreed. While sitting on the bench at the waters edge, he said he had to run up to the truck. While at the truck, he called her and told her there was a better place to watch the sunset and to meet her at the truck. She was confused (and grumpy). She met him at the truck and he practically dragged her (she was grumpy) down this path where no sunset could be seen. Eventually, he turned up a little path toward Eclipse Books, and brought her to the stairs, where to her grumpy astonishment, had candles and flowers and books everywhere. He said he has loved her for 1095 days and cannot wait to love her for all the days to come. She said yes, at a bookstore, where they began.
