Like many people these days, they met online via an app. (They truly have an app for everything these days!) Casey was adamant that he would never use these apps to find the right someone, but as fate would have it, he changed his mind just long enough to meet Radhika. After a few weeks of excessive texting and talking on the phone (sometimes until 4am!),their first date was over breakfast on the 5th of July, 2021. They were both very nervous, but after their meal, it was the start of something truly special. Even though Casey was still going to school to get his Master’s degree, the happy couple were practically inseparable on the weekends.

After approximately 18 months of dating, the time had finally come for Casey to ask for Radhika’s hand in marriage. Casey is a bit of an old soul, so one of his stipulations was that he ask Radhika’s parents in person. After planning for their trip, they took the journey halfway across the world to Sri Lanka and stayed for the December holidays. After spending lots of quality time with Radhika’s family, he finally discussed his plan to marry Radhika with Walter and Ramani on Christmas Eve 2022. Walter was wondering why Casey didn’t ask earlier during their trip and Ramani was playfully peeved that Casey asked Walter first. After the Christmas holiday, Casey proposed to Radhika at the Fortress Hotel in Galle during their High Tea on December 28th, 2022 with Casey’s parents in attendance via Zoom. Walter gave a spirited proposal toast for the happy couple wishing them a lifetime of love and happiness.
