Once upon a time, a 12 year old girl had her first crush. This boy was 16 years old and too cool for her. Over the next 30 years, their siblings, Donna, Phoebe, Chris and Vanessa stayed close friends. One day at a party, there he was… the first crush.. My First Crush. It was 30 years later, and I felt like a 12 year old silly girl again. We both awkwardly said hello, and that was that. Or maybe it was just awkward for me since I was the one who had the crush. Fast forward a week or so, I became a new puppy mommy to a German Shepard, Kumo. By chance, Rad’s sister Vanessa said Radburn trains dogs. Three months of us spending time with each other, with our 3 dogs, and getting to really know each other, we thought “there could be something there” but of course didn’t say anything. One day, we were sitting on my couch watching basketball, and out of the blue he says.. “Hey do you remember when you used to have a crush on me?” I slowly turned my head, wide eyed and in disbelief. I always wondered if he ever knew that. Here we are now, 5 years of joy, tears, laughs and a lot of love, ready to venture on to the next chapter of our lives together.
