It was a Tuesday night when Tanner decided to explore the dorm next door. He happened across a group of girls in the Porter lobby playing "Just Dance" (which was all the rage at the time). Racquel tried to get him to join, but he was too chicken. Instead, he pulled out his best party trick and came back with a guitar in-hand. Tanner decided it was time to turn the tables on Racquel and asked her to scroll through the sheet music on a laptop as he played. She failed. She was so enamored by the music that she kept forgetting to scroll down. Luckily, Tanner couldn't focus either... The rest is history.
The ring box was hidden in his sock as we spent an entire day exploring the Duluth area. It wasn't until late afternoon when we arrived at the beautiful Gooseberry Falls that Tanner decided that this was it. We stood on the edge of the falls posing for the typical couples' pictures while a volunteer (who was in on what was about to happen) had Tanner's phone firing away with pictures. Then, Tanner sat Racquel down on a rock (so she wouldn't fall in the water) while he pretended to tie his shoe- that's when he produced the ring. He spoke a heartfelt proposal (which we're keeping to ourselves :P), Racquel said YES, and she jumped up and almost knocked them both into the water. Without either of them realizing, a crowd had formed around them during the proposal and applause erupted as loud as the falls.
