FAQs

If you have any other questions other than what we've listed here, please reach out to Rachel or Neal. Please reach out sooner rather than later.
Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We would love to see everyone dressed in semi-formal attire such as cocktail length dresses, dressy separates or a suit and tie. Wear what you feel comfortable in and what will work in the unpredictable May weather. Our reception and ceremony will be held indoors, but there will be some outdoor walking between locations.

Question

Do I have a plus one?

Answer

If you have a plus one, their name will be listed next to yours when you go to RSVP. Our venue has a limited occupancy so available spots are limited. If you were not allocated a plus one but would like to bring somebody, please reach out to Rachel or Neal as soon as possible.

Question

What is happening between the ceremony & reception?

Answer

All photos will be completed between the ceremony and reception. We will make an announcement for who needs to be where if you are going to be involved in photos. For everybody else, you will be permitted to walk around the park. We are also planning to have some lawn games available outside the reception space. Fort Edmonton is closed May 2nd, so there is no entry to any of the historical buildings other than what we have booked.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony starts at 1:30. The church will open at 1:00. If guests could be seated in the church by 1:15 we will have time to prepare for the ceremony to start. It is a little bit of a walk from the parking lot so make sure to park with time to walk to the church.

Question

Where is the ceremony and reception?

Answer

Follow the link below to see a map of Fort Edmonton Park. The ceremony will take place at 63 - Church of St. Michael. The reception will take place at 26 - Clerks' Quarters. https://www.fortedmontonpark.ca/plan-your-visit/park-map

Question

Where do I park?

Answer

Follow the link below to see directions on how to get to the parking lot. The only difference is when you get to the gate tell them you are there for our wedding not for the indigenous venue. It is a little bit of a walk to the church. If anybody is unable to walk that distance they will allow a few cars to do a drop off at the church. Please let Neal or Rachel know ahead of time if you think walking will be a problem and we will confirm instructions for driving right up. https://www.ualberta.ca/en/governance/media-library/documents/member-zone/board-of-governors/parking-instructions-fort-edmonton.pdf

Question

Will there be a bar?

Answer

We will have a cash bar after dinner during the dance if anybody would like to purchase drinks. Coffee, tea, water, and juice will be available throughout the night.
