We're Getting Married!

Shane first laid eyes on Rachel in 2013 at Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa. It quickly became too late to approach her as she transferred to Iowa State University shortly after. They spent the next several years hours apart, but had never forgotten each other. In March 2017, almost four years later, Shane found himself spending days working up the courage to message Rachel. When he finally did, like a hot flash she was filled with excitement. Wasting no time, she was quick to respond. Feeling like centuries later, they finally found time to plan a first date, which just so happened to fall on Rachel's birthday. After a perfect weekend filled with deep conversation, discussion of future goals and plans and tons of laughs, they knew they had stumbled upon something incredible - unlike anything else. "It was the best birthday present imaginable!" -Rachel From then on, it was nonstop! Between lengthy four hour phone calls and spontaneous trips all summer, the two found true love, realizing it was all a part of God's plan for them. "When you know, you know!" -Carla, Mother of the Bride. Such a simple statement, but it was never understood by the couple quite like now. Shane moved to Des Moines in the fall to be closer while Rachel finished school. That very February, he proposed making Rachel happier than she had ever dreamed she'd be. She said YES! Wedding planning began the next day. The engaged couple couldn't be more excited to start a new chapter, hand in hand, as husband and wife. Now, they live in Sioux Falls, SD. Shane works for Bartlett Basketball Academy and Rachel at Lawrence & Schiller, an Advertising Agency. With big plans around the corner, they're happy to call Sioux Falls home.
