We met by the grace of God!! One night, Rachel got a call from her mom, Patti... expressing that their good friends and neighbors who were regulars at Gander had known Scott for awhile. Our friends go on to say that Scott is such a positive, uplifting, Godly centered man, and that we just had to meet! Two weeks go by, without another thought and one of Rachel's clients, whose son worked at Gander at the time, asked if she would be interested in being set up. As Rachel's client, Ann began to talk about the man who she thought would be a good match, Rachel realized that it is the same man her parents and close friends had mentioned previously. Without hesitation, Rachel asked Ann if she would be willing to make it happen and set them up! Ann went that day to Gander and told Scott all that had been going on and to see if we could plan a date! Only seeing a picture of each other and the words of others, Scott and Rachel met on December 20th at Gander to break the ice and get to know each other. Their first official date was on Christmas Eve and the next morning, Rachel knew she was going to marry that man! Two months go by and on Valentine's Day.... Scott asked her if it would be too soon to propose. Rachel told him that, "If it was any other story or relationship... I would say that it is best to wait at least a year or two before you fully know someone and should get engaged. But knowing how I feel about you now and how we met, I would say yes tomorrow!" They felt like everything that had happened, leading up to this point was just too special for it to not be a God moment! Rachel told Scott that she thought they at least needed to wait six months. On June 21st, almost exactly six months later, Scott asked Rachel to be his wife! We are forever thankful and blessed!
