We're Getting Married!

To keep everyone safe and comfortable in attending, we are working to follow CDC guidelines for our wedding. Masks will be provided and required. Hand sanitizer will also be provided and placed throughout the venue. Tables and chairs will be social distanced and separated by household or families. If anyone has particular concerns about safety, please reach out to us. We want to make sure everyone is comfortable attending our celebration

The very first time we met, I was a Resident Assistant walking the halls when I heard loud music playing from the other side of the building! When I get to the culprit's room, the man who opens the door gives me some serious sass about the music and both of us ended up walking away annoyed with each other. It wasnt until months later, when the same guy started working at Residential Life with me that I learned his name. Saul Gutierrez. While working together, Saul and I ended up bonding over Speed, a card game, and chicken nuggets. I am forever thankfully for second impressions! -Rachel ¡La primera vez que nos conocimos, yo estaba en mi dormitorio de la universidad feliz por que por fin comenzarían las vacaciones de primavera! Y pues como es costumbre me gusta escuchar música, pero al parecer para ciertas personas el volumen estaba un poco alto. En este tiempo Rachel era la encargada de mantener el orden de los dormitorios de la Universidad, entonces ella toco a mi puerta y me pidió que bajara el volumen de mi música por que según ella se escuchaba en todo el edificio. Con un poco de molestia le bajé a mi música y ella siguió su camino, no fue hasta meses de pues que comencé a trabajar en la misma oficina que ella que por fin nos conocimos. Durante este tiempo nos hicimos buenos amigos y nos enamorando, jugando juegos de cartas y comiendo chicken nuggets. -Saul

Saul decided that he was going to plan a "secret, fancy date" for the two of us. At this point, we had talked extensively about marriage (and I had already bought a wedding dress!), so I was pretty sure that this would be night he finally asked me. Now, I typically hate surprises, so I tried my hardest to get any type of information out of him for this suspicious date. He would only tell me two things: wear something fancy and get out of the house by 3:00 PM. When I arrived back at the house, Saul greeted me with flowers and escorted me inside. Saul had lined the entryway with rose petals and candles and had romantic music playing. I fully expected this man to get down on his knee right then and there, but the surprises kept coming! Saul made a three-course meal for the two of us and bought my favorite wine. After dinner, Saul invited me dance where he finally got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! Best secret, fancy date ever. -Rachel Estuve un par de meses pensando en diferentes formas de proponerle matrimonio a Rachel, pero ninguna me convencía. Tuve muchas ideas, que pensándolo bien hubieran sido mejor, pero soy muy malo planeando y ademas estaba nervisoso. ¡Por fin me decidí! y decidí hacer algo a mi estilo, sencillo, pero con mucho amor. Estaba muy nervioso, obvio yo sabía que ella aceptaría, pero aun así ¡me temblaban las piernas! Se llego el día, fue un poco difícil, ya que para poder llevar acabo mi plan tenia que sacar a Rachel de la casa por un par de horas, ya que tenía que preparar la cena y decorar la casa. Le pedí que se pusiera algo elegante, pero Como toda mujer complico la situación haciendo muchas preguntas. Cuando por fin pude convencerla de que saliera de la casa, decore con pétalos de rosa, velas y prepare una deliciosa cena. Era muy obvio lo que iba a suceder y como les había dicho antes ¡estaba muy nervioso! Después de la cena bailamos un poco y por fin me armé de valor y le hice la gran pregunta. -Saul
