As all great love stories begin, Rachel and Russell met in April 2018 amidst the chaos and sticky floors of SkyBar — Auburn’s premier watering hole — through mutual friends Tate and Wesley. When the conversation (inevitably) turned to Rachel mentioning that her dad was growing mushrooms on a log next to their house, Russell knew she was Not Like Other Girls™. Since then, they’ve lived in several states and traveled throughout the U.S. West Coast, Australia, and New Zealand — car camping and watching people’s neurotic dogs (with a few exceptions). It turns out that living in a 12-foot van together for 10 months is the ultimate relationship stress test. We made it, folks!
