Attire for the Ceremony and Reception?

What if it rains or is cold outside?

Answer

Don't worry, both the ceremony and the reception venues are indoors and heated. That being said, warm clothing is encouraged if you decide to walk around the Gardens after the ceremony has concluded or if you plan to walk to and from your hotel for the Reception.

How do I get to the Chapel from the Powell Gardens entrance?

Answer

1. Turn into the Powell Gardens entrance 2. At the stop sign, take a right instead of driving toward the ticket kiosk 3. Take your first left. This is the Powell Gardens administrative entrance 4. At the fork in the road, take a right. You will be driving away from the lake 5. Drive down the road until you reach the Chapel parking lot. The Chapel parking lot is at the end of the road you are on, so you will not be able to drive any further when you reach it

Where do I park for the Ceremony?

Answer

There is a parking lot at the base of the Chapel itself (see directions for how to get to Chapel). All parking is free.

Where are the restroom located in Powell Gardens?

Answer

Restrooms are located on the back-side of the Chapel, follow the down-sloping path to the right of the entrance to find the restrooms.

Can I take pictures or record during the ceremony?

Answer

We respectfully ask that all cellphones and flash cameras be silenced and put away during the ceremony. There will be photographers there to capture the important moments of our ceremony and we will definitely be sharing those picture at a later date!

When is dinner served at the Reception?

Answer

Appetizers and drinks starting at 6:00 pm. Official activities begin at 7:00 pm, Dinner served shortly thereafter. We recommend getting a snack during the afternoon break!

Where do I park for the Reception?

Answer

There are several free parking lots surrounding the Everly Event Space. However, if you are located at the Home2Suites or the Sheraton, it is a 5 min walk or short Street Car Ride to and from!

How do I get to the Everly Event Space from the Sheraton hotel?

Answer

1. Walk West toward Union Station (0.3 miles). 2. Board the KC Streetcar heading Northbound toward 3rd & Grand. 3. Take the first stop, Crossroads. 4. Walk West on W 19th Street. 5. Take a right onto Wyandotte St. 6. Next, take a left onto W 19th Terrace. 7. The Everly Event Space will be on your right. (Travel Time Walking: 15 mins)

How do I use the KC Streetcar?

Answer

The KC Streetcar is a metro that runs North to South through the major neighborhoods in Downtown Kansas City. It is free and arrives every 10-15 mins. Operating hours on Fridays and Saturdays are until 2 am. For more info visit: http://kcstreetcar.org/about-streetcar/

How do I get to the Everly Event Space from the Home2Suites?

1. Walk West on W 20th St 2. Take a right onto Wyandotte St 3. Take a left onto W 19th Ter 4. The Everly Event Space will be on your right (Travel Time Walking: 5 mins)

What if I want to reserve a room at Home2Suites or Sheraton but all of the Wedding Block rooms are taken already?

Answer

Please contact the bride or groom so we can help! It's possible we can acquire additional rooms at the same discounted rate. However, the closer to the wedding date, the more difficult it will be, so be sure to let us know as soon as possible!
