Our Story

I had known Ralph for over a decade through Camp Fusion, as that one high energy rec director with the tiny Texas shorts. While we knew of each other, it wasn't until the summer of 2018 that we actually became close friends. Over the next year "just friends" grew into "just besties". It didn't take long (although our friends would disagree, haha) before I realized I couldn't imagine my life without Ralph and maybe - just maybe - we could be more than just best friends. Moves were made, feelings became known and the rest is history ;)

Our proposal(s)

Last August, Ralph and I, along with a group of our closest friends planned a weekend trip to Austin for a wedding. I was stuffy and exhausted, but we had a great first day or so of the trip and at the wedding. Sunday morning comes and I get an "exposure" text. I ran out the door to get tested - Ralph followed after me, found an urgent care to test me, and fed me a lemon bar to see if i could taste it - I couldn't:( I got my + test and sadly spent the remainder of my weekend in quarantine. Little did I know, Ralph had planned to propose to me at golden hour that Sunday and all of our friends/family were already in town. I had no idea. A couple of months later, Ralph told me he was planning "family pictures" in the park with his out-of-town relatives. From that moment, I knew something was up because 1) Ralph doesn't plan family things and 2) definitely not at 5pm on a Friday in downtown Houston. Over the next few weeks, I would pick up on little details that confirmed my suspicions but I never mentioned them. That Friday we got to the park overlooking the Houston skyline, and I was SO nervous I'd be the one to ruin my own surprise. We snapped a couple of family pictures, then ones of just us two. When I thought we were done, Ralph pulled me back, got on one knee, told me he loved me for the first time (and some other sweet things I can't really remember lol...) and popped the question. It was a blur, but the important word was said - yes!

For all the days along the way
