After matching on Tinder at the end of August, we went on a couple of dates, including the movies, Doumars, and minigolf. A little over a week after our first date, Rachel went back to Roanoke, VA to start her sophomore year of college while I stayed in Newport News since I'm stationed at the shipyard, causing us to continue our new relationship long distance. We saw each other on weekends and holidays until the spring of 2020 when we moved into our first apartment together. -RC

After working a morning shift at Cracker Barrel, I came home to Shania Twain playing on the TV, candles lit all around the living room, and saw Rachel already welling up with tears as she asked me if I'd marry her. Honestly I don't remember how exactly she asked (I think I blacked out), but we cried and held each other before celebrating at a hibachi restaurant later that night. -RG
