We met in college at Mizzou through mutual friends, and for a while we were simply two people whose paths kept crossing. Over time, we started talking more and spending more time together. A fraternity weekend trip to the Lake of the Ozarks changed everything—it's where we both realized our feelings were becoming something more than friendship. By the start of our junior year, we officially began dating, and the next two and a half years were filled with memories we still cherish. After graduation, Quinn received a job offer in Wichita and asked Rachel to move with him. Excited to keep growing together, we packed up and started our first chapter of adulthood—new jobs, a new city, and all the learning that comes with figuring out life together. Our relationship has always been full of laughter and goofiness, and we’ve loved exploring new places, trying new restaurants, and especially traveling to the mountains or the beach. Wichita also brought us one of our greatest joys: Rowdy, our black lab retriever mix, who joined our little family at a year and a half old. After three years in Wichita, we were ready to be closer to home, so we moved to Kansas City, where we still are today. As we settled in, built our foundation, and talked about our future, we both knew the next step was coming. That moment happened on the beach in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina—just the two of us—when Quinn proposed during a quiet, intimate moment that we'll never forget.
