There are several access points around town to this walking/biking trail. It is well-manicured gravel. If the weather is nice, this is a happening place!
The line looks daunting but moves quickly and this is an ~experience~ that ends with fresh, custom donuts
Patti found an improv home in town; check it out if you have time! They usually have a standup show the first Friday of the month - check the website for schedule
Whenever I visit the larger suburban Chicago area, I like to get an authentic New York slice. And there’s nowhere better slice than the cafe at the Vernon Hills Sam’s Club. (For real. It’s a great slice of pizza. You don’t have to be a member to get one.)
For easy travel to Chicago, there is a Metra station in Libertyville at the above address. The schedule can be found at the link above. Travel to Chicago Union Station for the loop (downtown) and access to all the touristy fun. It’s about an hour train ride, so just make sure you leave enough time to get back for any wedding events. Tickets can be purchased with cash or by downloading the Ventra app and adding a card.
