After exchanging a few brief messages on an online dating app, we met for the first time on December 26th, 2019. Our first few dates were typical get to know you events at bars and restaurants, but things really started clicking when we spent three consecutive days together crafting costumes for a contest in Rachel's residency program. We both enjoy arts & crafts and we relished the opportunity to be creative while also getting to know the new and interesting person in our life. In that time, we realized how much we had in common, how much we enjoyed each other's company, and how much we made each other laugh! For each of us, the other sparked a joy within that we had not felt before. Soon thereafter, we were rarely apart. When the pandemic arrived in March 2020, just a month before Rachel's lease was set to expire, we decided to jump feet first into our new, shared life, which would now include living together. Throughout that first year, we rode the waves of the uncertainty through the coronavirus, welcomed an asylum-seeker into our home, acquired a kitten, and grew into our new roles as partners in life, with each of us helping the other achieve personal growth. Now that we have settled into a rhythm, we spend our days appreciating the every day moments together that make life so special. We are so excited to celebrate and share with you, our dear family and friends, this love we have found. Thank you for being a part of our special day!
