How We Met

We met at Beech Haven Baptist Church during an Upward Basketball camp. Neither one of us were planning on being at that camp, but through a set of crazy circumstances (thanks Jessie Johnson!), we were both there as volunteers. We knew we liked each other, but hung out as friends for a few weeks before going on our first date the day before Nathan’s 18th birthday. The rest is history!

The Proposal

Nathan told me that we would be going on a double date with our friends Cameron and Kevin, which is not an uncommon thing (Cam and Kev, we love you guys). We had “decided” that we wanted to go to downtown Athens for lunch and then a movie. Little did I know, Nathan had planned it this way. Nate told me that we would be picking up Cameron and Kevin in order to carpool, but it was actually because Cameron had been given the ring to hide in her purse. Nathan made the suggestion to stop at the UGA Founders Garden which is just *swoon* my favorite. He somehow got the ring from Cameron without me noticing and proposed in the garden. He also arranged for my sister and two of our friends to be there taking photos. Afterwards, we went to Amici, which is where we had our first date, and our parents and brothers were all there. It was truly one of the greatest days of my life. And to make it even better, we went to Target afterwards.

For all the days along the way
