Travel Note
For our first-time visitors, Fire Island is only accessible by ferry. Follow signs for either Ocean Beach or Ocean Bay Park depending on where you are staying. Ocean Beach Ferry: 99 Maple Ave. Bay Shore, NY 11706. Take this ferry if you are staying at the Palms, Blue Waters, or a house in Ocean Beach. Ocean Bay Park Ferry: 104 Maple Avenue, Bay Shore, NY 11706. Take this ferry if you are coming Saturday only or if you have a house/hotel in Ocean Bay Park. We recommend getting there early as it will take time to park. They have daily, overnight and long-term parking available (around $35 per night). When picking up your vehicle you must have your ticket available. You can buy tickets via the app (linked below) or in person (in person is cash only $13pp).
Flight
For those flying into JFK, you can either take an Uber to "Fire island Ferries" in Bay Shore or the AirTrain to Jamaica Station and then take the LIRR (Long Island Railroad) to Bay Shore (get on the Babylon line to Bayshore). When you get to the Bayshore stop, it is a short Uber to the Ferry station. It does not make much sense to rent a car as there are no cars allowed on Fire Island.
Train
If you are traveling from the city or Brooklyn you will need to take the Long Island Rail Road to Bay Shore. When you get out at Bay Shore take the shuttle ($6 pp) to the Ferry Station which is about 5-10mins away. Download the MTA Train Time app to check times/transfer locations and buy your tickets. If you are coming from the city: Go to Penn Station and follow signs for LIRR (Long Island Railroad) Download the app and plug in "Penn Station" to "Bay Shore". Please look carefully at what train to board and where to transfer. From Brooklyn: Go to Atlantic Terminal and follow signs for LIRR (Long Island Railroad) Once you download the app, plug in "Atlantic Terminal" to "Bay Shore". Please look carefully at what train/time to board and where to transfer.
Travel Note
If you are staying in Ocean Beach or Seaview: We have hired water taxis to take guests to and from the Wedding on Saturday. Water Taxi's will leave from Ocean Beach Ferry Dock promptly at 4pm returning at 10:30pm and 11:30pm. If you are coming for the day: Please refer to Ferry Schedule for times to Ocean Bay Park. We have hired boats returning to Bay Shore at 10:30pm and 12am. The ceremony will take place on Oneida Street Beach, a 6-minute walk from the boat drop off. After the ceremony, we will walk to Flynn's for the reception (another 6-minute walk). Please choose footwear wisely (leave the high stilettos at home)

Hotel
The Seashore Condo is a great option if you are only coming for the night and don't plan to join the after party. It is located in Ocean Bay Park, steps away from the reception. If traveling by car, please refer to ferry instructions/address for parking. Do not plug the Seashore Condo address into google maps as you will end up at a different location.
House Or Rental
A great way to experience Fire Island is to rent one of the many homes on the island. Airbnbs can be reasonable if you go in as a group. We recommend staying in Ocean Beach or Seaview if you would like to join all of the festivities as they are walking distance to the Welcome Party, After Party and Beach day Sunday. We have arranged for Water Taxis to take guests to and from Ocean Beach and the venue on Saturday. FYI - a lot of places will say they are in Ocean Beach but you will want to confirm by looking at where they are in the map. If you decide to stay in Ocean Bay Park, you can walk to the wedding on Saturday and take a water taxi or bike to the Welcome party and Beach Sunday ($10 pp and they leave every hour). To the west, Corneille Estates, Summer Club, or Robbin's Rest are options within a walk or easy bike. Beyond those towns, you will need a water taxi (or a very long, not enjoyable walk on sand...) Tip: When looking at homes, ask if they include bikes and beach equipment! If you are going in as a group it is also best not to mention it is for a wedding or they might turn you down. Feel free to send us the house you are considering before you book. Travel: Do not plug the address into google maps until you get to Fire Island. Please use address/instructions for the Fire Island Ferry town that your house is in.
