FAQs

The Wedding Website of Rachel De Candia and Morgan DeBerry
Question

What is the welcome celebration for?

Answer

It’s a chance for us to spend time with everyone who has traveled into town before the big day and kick off the wedding festivities together! Drinks will be provided

Question

Will there be an after party?

Answer

Yes! We’ll be continuing the celebration at the hotel room block bar/lobby area after the reception. Feel free to join us!

Question

Transportation to welcome drinks

Answer

-Poogan’s Courtyard is a separate location from the restaurant Poogan’s Porch and is situated in the heart of downtown, so parking may be limited. Options include street parking, a paid parking garage next to the venue, or taking the free shuttle from the Courtyard to Waterfront Park—the venue is just three blocks, or about a five-minute walk, from there.

Question

Will the celebration take place indoors, outdoors, or a mix of both?

Answer

The wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception will all be held outdoors. We’re hoping for beautiful weather, but please plan accordingly—Charleston can get a bit warm! The reception will be under a shaded tent to keep things comfortable.

Question

How far away is the wedding venue from downtown Charleston?

Answer

-The venue is about 40 minutes from downtown, but please allow extra time for traffic as spring in Charleston is very popular.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we love your little ones, our wedding will be an adults-only celebration. We hope you’ll understand and enjoy a night off celebrating with us. Children are invited only if named on the invitation.

Question

What kind of shoes should I wear to the wedding?

Answer

-The wedding will be fully outdoors, so please keep in mind the grass may be slightly uneven—opt for comfortable shoes and maybe skip the stilettos.

Question

Hotel rooms in Charleston

Answer

-Springtime in Charleston is very popular, so I suggest booking your rooms sooner rather than later to help keep costs down.
