Wedding Party

Meet our family and friends who are walking down the aisle with use!

Miranda Smith

Maid of Honor

As my only sibling, Miranda and I have a very special relationship. Despite looking very similar, especially when growing up, our personalities have been described at "night" and "day" different from one another. Miranda is a very strong-willed and passionate person. She is also incredibly compassionate and talented. She also worked very hard to make this day happen. I am very thankful to have my sister at my side on this special day!

Matthew Benson

Best Man

Accomplished Cellist, Saxophonist, and Theatrical Electrician, Matthew is my younger brother and biggest inspiration. Growing up, I realized that he's basically the funniest person ever and laugh to this day at some of the jokes and anecdotes he's told me. He's resilient, witty, resourceful, easy going, genuine, a great listener, a hell of a handyman and the foremost authority on Kansas City area hip hop. I am so proud and honored to have him at my side as Rachel and I start our journey as a married couple.

Alyssa Brunswick

Bridesmaid

Alyssa and I met in 7th grade. Our friendship was sealed over a shared class schedule and giant chocolate chip cookies. Without her I never would have survived debate tournaments or Ms. Henre's AP English class. She is the perfect roommate and my most trusted confidant. Alyssa is an amazing loyal friend, who is always there to offer support and encouragement. She is truly a ride or die friend and I cannot image this special day without her!

Paul Lux

Groomsman

Scintillating keyboardist, trombonist, and guitar player, Paul is a fixture in most of my musical memories through life. Through good shows and bad teardowns, coffeeshops and county fairs, cold beer and warm tequila, he's consistently shown me how much fun you can have playing music and how deep a friendship you can build along the way. This day could not happen without him. Quite literally. I'm sure he's fixed or handled some broken piece of sound equipment by now.

Molly Hobson-Vaida

Bridesmaid

I do not have a memory of meeting Molly. She has just always been in my life, which means we share a lifetime of memories! Molly was my partner in crime growing up and the only friend who liked to play in the snow. Molly is an incredibly talented artist and an entrepreneur who owns her own art gallery. She always looks fashionable and is truly the most kind hearted person I know. I am so excited to share this new milestone with her!

Thomas VanDyke

Groomsman

Fabled guitarist, saxophonist, and outdoor enthusiast, Thomas is an unending source of joy and badassery. He taught me teamwork and partnership as 1051 worked up "Waikiki" for our 5th Grade Talent Show. The thrill of performing brought us together and helped form The Abstract and most of the friendships in this room. His generosity, patience, basement couch, spare guitar cables, and extra pieces of red velvet cake are most appreciated.

Emily Heineman

Bridesmaid

Emily is another friend that I have no memory of meeting, but we met sometime before kindergarten. Emily is my foil in many ways. She is outgoing, spontaneous, and creative. Despite these differences, opposites attract. Thanks to her, I learned to grow as a person and push my comfort zone. Emily is an amazing cook and she can knit literally ANYTHING. She is incredibly smart, kind, and caring. I am honored to have her stand next to me!

Evan Wragge

Groomsman

Impeccable drummer, vocalist, and taste maker, Evan immediately lights up a room and attracts all the good vibes. I am so thankful for our journey through skateboarding, screamo, skinny jeans and eventually grown up pursuits like Zima and Pop Punk. His spirit and "down-for-whatever" attitude makes for a mighty fine concert buddy. As the only bridal party member who's been roommates with both me and Rachel, he holds a unique position at the head table and will for quite some time.

Marissa Kramer

Bridesmaid

Marissa and I met in kindergarten. Marissa was one of the coolest kids in the neighborhood, because she had a trampoline AND a pool. In addition to having access to very cool toys, Marissa and I shared a love of taking walks and chatting rather than playing Pokemon. Marissa is a wonderfully compassionate and caring woman. She has amazing dance moves and a great sense of humor. I am so excited to share this day with her!

Ian Wright

Groomsman

Transcendent double bassist, pianist, and comedian, Ian and I met at UNL while studying music. He was an obvious rockstar from the first time I met him and I knew our friendship was destiny. His love of music, creativity, and artistic expression is on another level. As a founding member of our folk trio Clay, Ian showed me a whole new approach to musical collaboration and is responsible for the musician I am today. His friendship is endless, his licks are tasty, and his jokes are legendary.

Tim Mastny

Groomsman

Mythical bassist and prodigious keyboardist, Tim is full of life and infectiously ambitious. Whether it be basketball, bare foot running, weightlifting, or Drunk Physics Friday, he jumps headfirst into a good time. Arguably the smartest person I know, Tim's approach to learning or networking or enjoying a hobby is truly inspiring. Our friendship grew strong as we tested our livers and GPAs in the hallowed Thunderdome apartment. I'm so glad to have him here as we act as respectable adults beginning our journey as a married couple.
