Rachel: We met on Hinge, the way any modern love story starts. He liked me first. Miles: I liked a picture of her hiking on a glacier in New Zealand--she seemed fun and outdoorsy [LOL]! R: Got 'em! M: She deliberated for a week or so if she wanted to "match" with me. R: I think it actually took me a month to decide if I wanted to "like" him back...He seemed so nice! And kinda nerdy. Not the type I had dated before. M: And I had months to dispel you of that notion ;-) R: ... sure. We matched during COVID, so we had four months between first swipe and first meeting, and we finally met for our first date at a tiki bar on the Upper West Side. M: I was so nervous I downed the first Piña Colada in 10 seconds flat. R: It was very cute. And clearly the "outdoorsy girl" ruse worked because I got my first date! M: And now we're getting married! R: Turned out we had a lot in common including the fact that we both HATE hiking. We were (and still are!) obsessed with movies; we even listened to the same movie podcast. We love seeing Broadway shows, going to sleep before 10:00, and we looove food. M: Particularly Sunday morning bagels and the perfect hot dog. R: UGH I love hot dogs! And I love you! M: I love you too! And we're so excited to share that love and celebrate with all of you!
Yes, Black Tie!
We envision this weekend as your opportunity to enjoy all the city has to offer, so we encourage you to utilize unscheduled time to explore the greatest city in the world! We will be having a brunch with our immediate families on Sunday following the festivities. And we will be attending the day session of the US Open on Monday 9/2. Let us know if you'll be there too!
No, Bogie can't hold his liquor... Anyone know a good dog sitter for a weekend? (But actually)
