Flight

Harrisburg International Airport

There are several airports to choose from in the Lancaster-York area. Harrisburg is one of the closest and easiest to navigate, but it can also be a slightly more expensive than one of the larger airports. We recommend comparing prices and flight schedules on www.google.com/flights to find the best deals.

Flight

Lancaster Airport

Lancaster Airport is very small, but you can get connecting flights from larger airports through Southern Airways or American Airlines. Rachel has flown in and out of this airport several times in the past and had positive experiences. However, if you don't do well in puddle-jumper planes, you may want to look elsewhere.

Flight

Baltimore-Washington International Airport

BWI is the closest big-city airport. It takes about an hour and 15 minutes to get to the ceremony location (York, PA) from there. If you have extra time before or after the wedding, we recommend checking out some sights in the Baltimore/Washington D.C. area. There is a lot to see and do here!

Flight

Philadelphia International Airport

Philadelphia is the next-closest metropolitan airport, almost 2 hours from the wedding location. It is probably our least-favorite as it is large and always under construction. However, if you are interested in using public transportation, you can take a SEPTA regional train from the airport to Center City and an Amtrak train to Lancaster. You would need to find a ride or rent a car from the Lancaster train station.

Hotel

Sleep Inn & Suites of Lancaster County

310 Primrose Lane, Mountville, PA 17554
 (717) 285-0444

This is the hotel that Rachel recommends based on location, price, and reviews on Booking.com. It is about a 17-minute drive from the reception location, but includes a free hot breakfast, indoor pool and hot tub, and easy access to numerous attractions in the Lancaster-York-Harrisburg area. Rachel recommends booking through Booking.com to get the best discounts!

Travel Note

AirBnB

If you are looking for a larger-group accommodation for multiple family members, we recommend looking at rentals in the Wrightsville, Columbia, York, and Lancaster areas through AirBnb.com. There are many historic, well-kept, and cozy options to choose from!

House Or Rental

The Welcoming Place

21 South 12th Street, Akron, PA 17501
 (717) 859-1151

If you are looking for economical lodging that has an international feel and supports the humanitarian work of Mennonite Central Committee, we recommend checking out the MCC Welcoming Place in Akron, PA. While this location is about a 30-minute drive from the wedding/reception locations, it is a bit closer to other attractions in Lancaster County if you intend to stay and explore the sights for awhile. You can also get some amazing food in the dining hall for additional fees. **Note: The guest houses DO NOT appear to have air conditioning. We understand this may be a deterrent for some folks, so wanted to let you know up front.
