Lake Tahoe

Lake Tahoe is about a 25 minute drive from our venue. Lots to do like paddle boarding, kayaking, jet ski, and parasailing! Favorite beach recommendations: Sand Harbor, Moondunes, Tahoe City Commons Beach. The website attached will give you some additional beach recommendations.

Donner Lake

If you have rented one of our recommended houses, you have access to the private beach at Donner Lake for a small fee. Otherwise, all the docks are public, as well as West End Beach. West End Beach is a great spot for swimming, paddle boat rentals, volleyball courts, playground, and barbecues. The website attached will give you more information on West End Beach.

Tahoe Donner Association

If you have rented one of our recommended houses on our Travel page, it includes Guest passes to all the amenities in the Tahoe Donner Homeowner's Association. This includes a private beach at Donner Lake, two private pools with a hot tub, and playgrounds for the kids for a small fee. There is also horseback riding, hiking, golfing, and many other activities available within the Tahoe Donner association.

Donner Memorial State Park

Located about 10 minutes from the venue, this is a State park with hiking and picnic area! The Donner Party memorial museum is also located here, which is a famous, historical piece of Truckee history that shouldn't be missed!

Truckee

The downtown of Truckee is a great spot for shopping and dining. Very cute town to walk around! On Thursdays, they hold the "Truckee Thursday" event with a craft fair, food trucks, and live music.

Truckee Thursday

Truckee Thursday is a very fun event if you are able to arrive in the area on Thursday. There is live music, craft beer, food trucks, and a craft fair! They close the entire downtown street for the event-about a 10 minute drive from the venue

Squaw Valley Resort

Squaw Valley is located about 20 minutes from the venue! There is a village with restaurants and shopping. The village is a fun place to stroll, but there is also the Shirley Canyon hiking trail, as well as the Tram ride to High Camp. At the top of High Camp is swimming, dining, and hiking.

Northstar California Resort

Northstar Village is located about 15 minutes from our venue. The village is a fun place to stroll! There is dining, shopping, hiking, mountain biking, and many other outdoor adventures!

Truckee River Rafting

River rafting on the Truckee River! Starts and ends in Tahoe City and is a fun event during the day! The rafting experience is relaxing and fun for kids too!

Bridgetender Tavern and Grill

Partly owned by the Bride's parents, it is a fun restaurant and bar located on the Truckee River! Great for a good burger and drinks!

Marg's Taco Bistro

Great, unique Mexican food! Perfect stop for tacos and a margarita!
