San Diego International
San Diego International is located in Downtown San Diego and is the closest airport to Oceanside. Landing in San Diego you also have the Coaster train to Oceanside available to you. If you cannot find flights landing in San Diego that work for your schedule the next best options would be John Wayne Airport (55 minute drive, located in Orange County) and LAX (95 miles away, driving traffic can vary from 1 hour and 40 minutes to 2 hours and 30 minutes).

Coaster
The Coaster is our favorite method of transportation from San Diego International to Downtown Oceanside. To get to the Old Town train stop, take the San Diego Flyer shuttle to Old Town (the shuttle comes every 20 minutes and the ride to Old Town is 18 minutes). At the Old town station purchase a $6.50 ticket at the "Pronto" ticket kiosks, then enjoy the Northbound 55-minute Coaster ride into Oceanside.
