How We Met

Cigars and Old Fashions

We joke about it to this day that we don't actually remember how we met! Although we can draw it back to a group of friends we had through Renew (a worship gathering in central Phoenix). We've known each other for almost a decade, weaving in and out of each other's lives through many different seasons. Whether it's playing music together, watching movies, hiking, exploring, or laughing, we always find a way to find a way to create joy in each others presence. How did we start our dating relationship? In a traditional setting, over cigars and Old Fashions of course! Logan reached out to me with one question... "On a scale of 1 to July 4th, 1776, how free are you tonight?" For anyone who knows Logan, that is a pretty typical statement for his personality and humor. I ended up calling Logan to tell him it wouldn't happen, only to drive across town and surprise him. That was the night we both felt a shift in the way we saw one another. I remember earlier that day making a promise to God that I would say "yes" to anything that He put before me.. so naturally when I said no to Logan, I knew I had to turn my car around. When I walked into our spot and made eye contact with him, I felt something different. Something had changed. It had been a while since we've last seen each other! The rest of the night I made an attempt to keep my distance from him (he begs to differ). Inevitably, towards the end of the night, Logan extended an invitation to dinner. I said yes with a nervous hesitance (The good kind). The rest of the night I remember driving home in complete silence, wondering if this was a good move. Of course, the first date went better than great! Somewhere inside, we both knew this was the first day of the rest of our lives together. It has been a blast ever since and we are elated to get married and celebrate with all of you!
