Our favorite neighborhood bar (literally next door!) Leighton has been making his way through the whiskey list for the past 6 months... Pappy Van Winkle is slowly eating away all crypto profits.
A very special restaurant that we live above. We've been trying to get in with the staff since COVID hit, slowly but surely becoming regulars! Incredible natural wine selection, the best Caesar salad, and delicious chicken over rice. Go here!
Rachel's favorite cocktail here is The Alibi. 10/10 recommend!
One of our favorite grab and go Cafes that JUST so happens to be at one of the best restaurants in NYC. Come for a morning coffee and breakfast sandwich, stay for an Aperol Sptriz and an Italian Job (Google it, you are SO welcome!)
The best slice pizza you can find east of the river! They have a sit down restaurant around the corner, but this is great easy bite. We went here with a group of friends 5 years ago and met THEE Paulie Gee. He told Leighton to marry Rachel - so I guess we can thank Paulie for this union.
One of our favorite wine bars that serves only California wines. Incredible owners, delicious food and great vibes all around. Make sure you wave to Will, Alessandra, and Oliver Thomas from across the street as you sip your vino.
Classic Jewish bagel shop. We love the Bacon, Tomato and Scallion bagel. Note -- you will need a nap after indulging.
Great local coffee shop. Take a Capp to go and walk laps around the park. 4 laps = a mile!
A Williamsburg establishment where we had our engagement dinner. The food is unparalleled and their wine menu is off the charts. Make a reservation if you can!
The best breakfast in all of Williamsburg, IMHO. Try the BEC wrapped in a scallion pancake. Take a mochi donut home for later. Take a nap, Repeat.
Toby's Estate (we refuse to call it Partners!!) is a classic Williamsburg coffee shop offering high quality espresso drinks and a pretty robust breakfast menu. Hipsters frequent this establishment so beware.
Women owned brewery right about the corner from our apartments. Juicy, hoppy, and delicious beer is served here. Take it togo and walk to McCarren park.
The best pancakes in the entire world are served here. Located in the heart of Greenpoint and close to the chicest boutiques and vintage shops. Transmitter park is around the corner and offers the best views of the Manhattan skyline.
Back when we first moved to Brooklyn, we'd frequent Campbell's Cheese Shop almost every weekend for their infamous biscuit breakfast sandwich. They curate an incredible selection of cheeses and Brooklyn paraphernalia, also $25 chocolate bars if you're into that.
The best Sushi in all of New York (we believe). Their Omakase tasting is $$$ but well worth it. Make a reservation and be prepared to take your shoes off when you arrive.
A local distillery that has wonderful cocktails and the nicest staff. They have a partnership with Kings County Imperial (incredible Chinese food) so get a cocktail and order some dumplings and dan-dan noodles.
Cozy is owned by Meat Hook which sources all of its meat from Upstate New York. They are fairly new, but have an amazing burger and steak tartar. Their menu is always changing but is "Appalachian" inspired so do what you will with that information.
Rooftop bar of that William Vale hotel that offers bougie cocktails and view of the Manhattan skyline that is breathtaking. You're going to spend $20 on a beer but the view will give you temporary amnesia and you'll forget all about the price when you see the city lights!
This bar named after Rachel's Mom and is in the one of the best parts of Greenpoint. Their drinks are fabulous. We recommend going to Threes Brewery next door and ordering a burger from the Meat Hook Burger shop and then bring it to Ramona. A true high low, but in reality a high high.
Super hip wine bar ran by all Parisian men - they offer no menu, but only recommendations based on what you are seeking. Their backyard is incredible! We are pretty sure this was where patient zero contracted COVID in NYC before the pandemic because of the parties that were thrown here in March 2020.
The best pasta that can be found outside of Italy can be had here. We recommend the spinach and mascarpone filled tortelli with brown butter & the sheep's milk ricotta filled occhi. Order every app and don't skip the gelato!
Plant filled, light filled, hipster filled coffee shop offering great coffee and great ~vibes~.
Another plant filled coffee shop except here you can buy the plants. They serve Kettl Tea (our favorite tea maker of all time based out of BK) and have a great backyard.
Renowned local Bakery (pronounced bawk-eri-ie) that you can smell from 10 blocks away. Amazing baked goods and a lovely backyard to enjoy them in.
Delicious local Mexican spot that has a happy hour that cannot be beat. Their margaritas will take you down so proceed with caution. We love their carnitas and steak tacos!
Traditional German beer bar that is great for groups and an afternoon brew. It's fairly unassuming but has a delish food menu. We love their pretzels and sausages with sauerkraut but mostly enjoy their house made grainy mustard. Don't sleep on it!
Quaint coffee shop that has a Japanese influence (Kettl tea sold here!) with great food and treats. We love Sey coffee which is brewed here. It's new to the neighborhood, but we think once it's discovered there will be a line our the door. Try their Japanese style egg salad sandwich *chefs kiss*.
The McCarren park farmers market is open on Saturday mornings only and has the best selection of summer produce, milk, honey, yogurt, meat and flowers all sourced from the Hudson Valley. We go here almost every Saturday.
Domino Park is a MUST. The ideal journey is to put in an order for Pizza at Roberta's, grab a beer at Other Half (one of our favorite brewers) and then head to the park for a picnic. Eat your lunch and then go BACK a grab an ice cream at OddFellows. Make your way back to the park and if you're feeling brave, start a pickup volley ball game with the locals. Justin Bieber is a frequenter of this park so keep your eyes peeled!!
