Schulz Bräu Brewing Company – Site of our first date! Kolby highly recommends the Schwarzbier, while Rachel usually goes for whatever cider is on tap. Prost! Xül Beer Company – Rachel swears by the PBJ Mixtape, while Kolby enjoys Tiny Umbrellas. Great atmosphere, creative beers, and a fun crowd. Yee-Haw Brewing Co. – Excellent beers (the Dunkel!), but their hot chicken tenders steal the show. They’ve never gone past “mild,” but if you do, we want to hear about it. Clancy’s Tavern & Whiskey House – Where we had our second date… 24 hours after our first! Great whiskey selection, cozy vibes, and good food.
Outdoor (free!): Inskip Park, West Hills Park, and Tyson Park Indoor (for a fee): Pickleball Playground and POP (Pavilion of Pickleball)
Sticky Rice Café – Authentic Laotian comfort food. Kolby loves the fried rice, Rachel can’t resist the fried chicken and soup noodle dishes. Kaizen – Fusion Asian spot downtown. Kolby’s go-to is the steak fried rice. Rachel? She’s never had a bad dish here. Caza Brava – Delicious Mexican food. Kolby always orders Arroz con Pollo, Rachel goes for the Carne Asada. MooYah Burgers – Kolby specifically requested this one. (It’s not fancy, but it’s good!) Ice Cream – Cruz Farms Creamery or Andy’s Frozen Custard. Because dessert is always a good idea.
Great Smoky Mountains National Park – The ultimate East Tennessee experience. Hike, drive, or just take in the views — you can’t go wrong. Ijams Nature Center – A local favorite for hiking, paddleboarding, or just pretending you’re outdoorsy. (We’ve talked about going, but… still on the list.) Victor Ashe Park – Home to a great disc golf course (so Kolby says). We did about 60% of our wedding planning on walks here! Lakeshore Park – Scenic trails, river views, and perfect picnic spots.
MagiQuest (Sevierville) – Yes, we’re both Master Magis. Don’t judge until you’ve tried it. Maple Hall Bowling – A cool, underground bowling alley with food and cocktails. Great rainy-day activity. Downtown Knoxville Farmers Market (Saturdays) – If you know Rachel, you know her love for farmers markets. Costco – Okay, this one’s a joke… kind of. If you know the couple, you know Rachel loves Costco, and Kolby tolerates it.
