Kevin and I were set up through Gary, his coworker, and Sheryl, one of my closest friends. Sheryl and I were having lunch one day when she asked me if I had ever considered dating again. I told her yes, I just wasn't sure where to begin. She told me she had someone in mind. Her boyfriend, Gary, worked with a guy named Kevin, who she thought would be a great match for me and the boys. I told her she could give him my number... but only after she insisted I look him up on facebook. For three days, she questioned if I heard from Kevin. Each day I told her no and thought maybe he wasn't interested. Then Saturday hit and I heard from him! We text almost non-stop all weekend and then set up a date for the following weekend. My nerves were a mess waiting! Our first date was a lot of awkward silence, but thankfully we both warned the other that we weren't huge talkers. I was hooked the moment I saw him. My grandma always told me her love at first sight for my grandpa and I never thought I would find that... then I saw Kevin. There aren't actual words; I just knew I wanted this to be my forever. He is the most amazing, funniest, kindest, loving, most genuine man I know.
Ever since we knew marriage would be in our future, I told Kevin I wanted a string wrapped around my finger as an engagement ring. Little did I know, Kevin had already gotten a ring for me. It wasn't until our Brown family vacation and the the night before we left, Kevin and I were walking back from the beach when he started talking, "You know, a string wouldn't work anyway." I was devastated. "Why!?" I stopped walking and turned to face him. "Because I already got you a ring." He was so confident. "You did not," I stated matter-of-factly. "Yes," he pulled out the box and opened it, "I did." "Are you serious!?" I think I repeated this several times. Kevin let me. "Will you marry me?" He pulled out the ring, waiting to place it on my finger. "YES!!!!!!!" He knew I'd love that ring; he was right. But don't tell him that!
