Desert Botanical Garden

Phoenix Zoo
We love seeing the Christmas lights here! While it won't be decorated for Christmas, it will be cool enough that the animals will probably be out and about.
OdySea Aquarium
Who doesn't love the aquarium?
Musical Instrument Museum
We came here the first time I traveled to visit Ken. Make sure to check out all the foreign instruments and the ones that are produced close to home. There's also a room that allows kiddos to make their own music, enter if you dare!
Heard Museum
Ken had a hand in the redesign of the building! But beyond that, this is a great place to learn more about the indigenous people who live here.
Sedona
Beautiful red rocks and a relaxed vibe about 2 hours north of Phoenix. Sedona is a great day trip with lots of hiking trails in all different skill levels.
Grand Canyon National Park
While this can technically be a day trip at 3.5 hours north, we suggest booking a room overnight. There are several lodges in the National Park and a few hotels are outside the park in the town of Tusayan. If this interests you, plan to book the room early, as space in the park is limited and fills quickly! **The south rim gets a decent amount of snow. So please check the weather and plan to dress accordingly.
