A contemporary art museum, with a ton of pop art and modern sculptures. You’ll see some Koons, Lichensteins, and Warhols.
A fun grouping of restaurants/food stalls! Our favorite is Egg Slut, a great place for breakfast. Get “The Fairfax!”
A fun, photogenic bookstore that you can get lost in figuratively and literally.
Museum of Contemporary Art. Showcases many different types of Modern Art and is right next to the Walt Disney Concert Hall. You can also take a tour of the concert hall if you just want to see the architecture!
A Frank Gheri designed concert hall that looks like a crumpled up piece of tissue paper. If you want to see a symphony, this is the place!
A pedestrian street celebrating Mexican culture, complete with trinkets, food trucks, and music. A Rachel and Karel must see!
If you like pop music history, you’ll like this museum.
One of two fun downtown breweries where you can easily spend an afternoon sipping on some craft beer, playing skee ball, and watching a Dodger game.

A mutli-story bar with a Redwood Forest theme (and some secret themes on every level) (let us know if you can find the secret tiki room! (hint: The door is behind a mirror)). A very fun bar with live music and taxidermy. A Rachel and Karel must see!
A tech-infused amusement park with virtual reality, arcade games, and even escape rooms!
There’s so many great hotel rooftop bars with beautiful views and good vibes. Some of our favorites are at The Standard, The Ace, The Hoxton, and The Freehand!
Lots of great dinner restaurants in DTLA, you really can’t go wrong. Above is a great website, (for all of LA’s food spots) with some DTLA recommendations. By the way, if you want good sushi, we recommend Sugar Fish.
An LA lunch staple! A nostalgic shop with hay and sawdust covered floor, known primarily for their French Dip Sandwiches, but the real reason to go is the atmosphere and the pastrami — the joint opened in 1908 and the menu still features things like pickled eggs and pig's feet. Coffee is ten cents a cup, but their 60-cent lemonade is even more popular. Expect to queue at any time.
An amusement park based off of Universal properties, such as Harry Potter, Minions, Jurassic Park, Transformers, Godzilla, and more! A good place to spend a day, if you don’t mind spending a bit of moolah.
If you only wanted to do one amusement park in California, Disneyland is the one. Located in Anaheim, about an hour drive south of LA, it’s a FULL day of activities. With fireworks in the evening. The American Efteling. Also! Downtown Disney (located right outside the park) has a lot of unique shops and restaurants.
Home to The Hollywood Sign and Griffith Observatory a great place to go to if you want to hike and get some incredible views of LA. Griffith Observatory is free and has a beautiful art-deco architecture with a few exhibits on space and the stars. The Hollywood sign is about a 6 mile hike, depending on where you start in Griffith park. The AllTrails app has all the routes listed.
