In August of 2007 Jose and Rachel were at a mutual friend’s birthday party. As soon as Rachel walked in the room Jose knew he had to get to know her. The years that followed were filled with countless phone conversations and get-togethers that matured into a friendship that would last forever. After high school, they stayed in each other’s lives, but it wasn’t until New Year’s Eve 2012 that Jose and Rachel embraced what many had been telling them for years. That night they shared a kiss that would change their lives. After dating long distance for 2 years, Rachel’s career took her to South Dakota. Jose decided to move to Aberdeen to finish his degree and finally put an end to the long distance. In 2017, another career move took them to Indiana where Rachel landed her first head coaching job. On September 2nd, 2018, Jose suprised Rachel with a hot air balloon ride over Indianapolis. When they landed, some of their closest friends and family were waiting for them. At that moment, Jose got down on one knee and asked Rachel to be his wife. “Ever since we started dating, Rachel has inspired me to be a better version of myself.
