Lofty hopes grouped with realistic expectations led Rachel to stumble upon Jordan's online dating profile and start a conversation. A video displaying a filthy, green Under Armour shirt at a 4th of July kickball game stopped her casual scrolling and prompted her to leave a comment. It said "I need to know, did the stain ever come out of that shirt???" That question led two Christ lovers to an unexpected love story. After some time talking back-and-forth over text messages, they decided their first date would be at El Zarape in Rome, Ga. A classic in the eyes of Rachel for its down-to-earth atmosphere and its reliability, two characteristics that would personify their relationship going forward. As it's been discussed between the two of them, the first date was not one where you called your parents and said, "This is the one." However, they both remark about how they knew instantly that the other had a gentle soul. There was no topic uncovered between these two but quickly a pillar of their relationship spawned, sports. Both live with sports being a cornerstone in their lives while Jordan worked in it every day at Kennesaw State and Rachel coached the Model girls basketball team. Whether they talked about Rachel's beloved Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, or Jordan's previous broadcasts, it was a cozy subject for the two as they learned about each other and began to harvest their love one date at a time. One year later, it was only fitting that their proposal took place at a basketball court. After an out of the ordinary, Friday evening basketball practice, Rachel walked out to the court to see Jordan standing there with a ring in his hand a question burning in his mind. God makes no mistakes, and it was His work to make sure Jordan was wearing that filthy green Under Armour shirt that day and no, those stains did not come out of that shirt. Romans 8:31
