Rachel and Joon knew timing is one of the most important aspects in a finding a partner and how they met is a representation of that. Rachel and Joon were introduced by a mutual friend but it took three tries to actually meet. Rachel and Joon each rejected the idea of going on a blind date with each other in two separate instances but finally (maybe reluctantly?) agreed to go on a blind date. Joon, with his broken Korean, started a conversation with Rachel on KakaoTalk and went on a first date via FaceTime. Rachel wrote down questions to ask and expected it to last about ten minutes. Meanwhile, Joon had no expectations and thought he'd just throw random words during the conversation and see if any stick. Surprisingly, the FaceTime lasted hours and now they are getting married. Woah
The morning of the proposal, Joon gathered Rachel's and his friends to help him decorate the airbnb he rented at Santana Row. Joon asked one of Rachel's best friends to take her out to dinner in Santana Row and then head over to the airbnb pretending that it was one of her friend's apartment. Once Rachel arrived, a scavenger hunt was prepared with each answer leading to her friends that were hiding in different areas of the airbnb. The last clue was to let her out to the balcony where Joon showed her a video and then proposed under an arch.
Whether you can attend the wedding or not (we know it's difficult being that it's a random Friday afternoon and COVID being COVID), we want to thank you for being a special part of our lives. We also understand that our wedding is on Friday the 13th. See y'all in Sunol, CA!
