Like a lot of people in our generation, they met on a dating app. “The swipe that changed it all”. John and Rachel met in Raleigh while she was completing a travel nurse assignment. John had been settled in Raleigh for the past 10 years. Rachel was likely the least settled person John had met. She told him she was planning on completing a solo hiking trip throughout Europe after her assignment. Then she was moving across the country to Seattle for her next gig. This did not dissuade John. In fact, he flew out to Italy at the tail end of her trip for a couple of days. Thankfully, he was easily convinced to “miss his flight” in order to stay a few more days. After that, their next adventure took them out west to beautiful Seattle. A cross country road trip 2 months into dating is always a fun game of “will they, won’t they”. And thankfully it worked out splendidly. Since then, they have had many adventures together. John has officially caught the travel bug and Rachel is always happy to plan out their impromptu trips. Throughout the last 3 years they have gone through home renovations, cross country moves, injuries requiring surgery and long physical therapy courses, career changes and setting down roots together. Their love has been tried and tested and goes on even stronger after each obstacle. Their most recent adventure took them to New Zealand where they eloped. This was followed by a small ceremony for the immediate families. We are very excited to invite our friends and family to a classic Maryland crab feast on beautiful Crab Alley Farm. Looking forward to seeing you all! And thank you for being a part of our celebration. We love you!
