We were all taught that Italy looks like a boot, which is a great reference. The Amalfi Coast is on the front side of the boot where the leg meets the foot. In geographic terms, it’s on the eastern side of Italy, about two-thirds of the way down. The town of Amalfi is about an hour and a half south of Naples, and three and a half hours south of Rome.
If you’re traveling to an Amalfi Coast wedding from the United States, taking a plane is the best option. The closest airport is NAP (Naples International Airport), which is about an hour and a half away from the Amalfi Coast. Of course, you’ll have to arrange transportation once in Naples. No matter where your home base is, you should be able to find flights that end up at the closest airport. For example, if you choose to start travel to Rome before or after the wedding, flights are only 50 minutes long. Six months of passport validity is recommended, and at least 3 months of validity beyond your planned date of departure from the Schengen area. Beginning in 2025, ETIAS travel authorisation is an entry requirement for visa-exempt nationals (includes the US) traveling to the EU. It is linked to a traveler’s passport. It is valid for up to three years or until the passport expires, whichever comes first. If you get a new passport, you need to get a new ETIAS travel authorisation. For military members, please check with your command security manager for travel requirements

Yes, there will be an open bar at the wedding reception.
Welcome dinner: This event is dressy casual required. It's a dress code that calls for special event clothing that's trendy, relaxed, and comfortable. Think of this dress code as attire that is dressier than what you would wear to work, but not as formal as what you would wear to black-tie or formal events—we kindly ask please no flip-flops, hats, jeans or t-shirts. For examples of dressy casual attire please visit the following link: https://www.theknot.com/content/what-to-wear-dressy-casual Wedding Ceremony- This event is formal wedding attire required. Formal wedding attire sits between cocktail and black tie on the wedding dress code scale. It's slightly more elevated than cocktail attire and a touch less dressy than a black-tie nuptial. As for colors to avoid for formal weddings, steer clear of white or champagne-colored attire. It would help if you also avoided pieces that may read as too casual, such as a cotton sundress. For examples of formal wedding attire please visit the following link: https://www.theknot.com/content/formal-wedding-attire Wedding Reception- This event is formal or cocktail attire required. Cocktail wedding attire is a slightly more elevated dress code than semi-formal attire but is less formal than formal wedding attire—we kindly ask please no flip-flops, hats, jeans, or t-shirts. A pair of reliable wedding guest shoes is a closet staple that you'll wear over and over again. While there's definitely a time and place for bold, unique shoes, the ideal pair of wedding guest shoes should be simple enough to go with almost any outfit and dress code. Shades like nude, black, gold, or silver are all options that can go with almost any kind of wedding outfit, but you can also opt for a pop of color with something bright and fun. *When selecting footwear, please remember that Positano is a cliff-side village that involves walking many hills, stairs, and cobblestone streets. For women, dressy block-healed shoes or sandals would work great. For men, loafers and dress shoes would work great. Please no tennis shoes or flip-flops.
The weather on the Amalfi Coast is still quite mild in September, with the temperatures slowly cooling off but still warm enough to swim in the sea. Beach clubs, restaurants, and hotels are all open until mid-October but much less crowded, and you can pack summer clothing along with a light jacket for the late summer showers and cooler evenings. Download Whatsapp! We recommend contacting your local phone provider and inquiring about adding an international day pass for the duration of your time in Italy. Almost everywhere in Italy has public WIFI, this is at no cost. However, public WIFI is less secure than buying a day pass with your local phone provider.
