The church and venue are a 15 minute walk or 5 minute drive away from each other! Following the ceremony, there will be a trolley available to transport guests (approximately 30 guests at a time) from Sacred Heart Church to The Merrimon-Wynne House for those who would like to ride in place of walking, using Uber/Lyft, or driving their own car! After the reception, there will not be formal transportation provided as guests are invited to call an Uber, Lyft or walk back to the hotels if you choose!
Yes, there is parking available for both the ceremony at Sacred Heart Church as well as at The Merrimon-Wynne House for cocktail hour and the reception. For Sacred Heart Church, guests can take advantage of street parking, the parking lot behind the Cathedral school and Parish office (enter from W. Edenton street), St. Monica lot on the corner of W. Edenton Street and Dawson Street, St. Dominic lot on the corner of Hillsborough and Dawson streets. Paid parking is available at the 2 lots directly across from Sacred Heart Church. For The Merrimon-Wynne House, there is a parking lot available right next to the house; please see here for directions and more information! https://www.merrimonwynne.com/parking-directions Guests are invited to leave their cars overnight in the public parking lot by The Merrimon-Wynne House & are able to come by any time the following day to retrieve.
We kindly ask that you RSVP by May 3rd! This ensures we have enough time to let vendors know a final headcount.
At this time, we are only able to accommodate guests specifically listed on your invitation - while we love your kids, if they are not listed on the invitation, we kindly ask you don't bring them with you to the wedding events this weekend. Thank you for understanding!
We ask that you arrive at the ceremony at least 20 minutes in advance to get a seat and get settled!
We would love to see everyone get dressed up to celebrate this special day! For the welcome party, the dress code is cocktail attire and for the ceremony and reception, formal attire is requested! Please see the “Events” page for examples on what this entails!
Yes, please see the "Travel" section. We have 2 different hotels with room blocks. The last date to book your room with the hotel block for the set rate we have reserved is by June 2nd! However, if you choose to stay elsewhere, there are also many different hotels in the area as well as Airbnb and Vrbo options!
Yes, we are happy to accommodate food allergies and dietary restrictions as we are able! Please ensure you let us know in advance.
