Welcome to the wedding details for Rachel & Jake

It all started in 2012 during Pre-Season at Washington & Lee University. We disagree about how we met the first time, but we clicked during that first ever week of college. During college, we dated for a couple years. During that time, we got to know each other and each other's families so well. It seemed we each found the right person at the wrong time. We went our separate ways for several years. After college, we both moved to Washington DC (separately) and were living our own lives. One fateful day, our paths crossed again through a mutual friend. Jake asked me out for drinks, and the rest was history. About 5 years ago, we started dating again, and it was like a new chapter of our lives had been laid out before us. Being back together felt like coming home. A year into rekindling our relationship, I went to PA school in North Carolina, and Jake started law school at GW. We did long distance for two years and made it work. It was the sweetest reunion when we finally moved in together in DC in May 2020. June 27th, 2021, Jake proposed on the mountain top of Mary's Rock in Shenandoah Virginia. He planned the proposal as a complete surprise (to everyone)! We spent the day driving in the Blue Ridge Mountains, eating pancakes at a diner, calling all our family, and eating delicious Indian food at Rasika. These last 5 years together have been the best of our lives, and we can't wait for many more together.
