I Found the One Whom My Soul Loves

Song of Solomon 3:4

Our story begins...

Our Beginning

“God gave me you”

It is by the grace of God that we met. Both of us are members of Bellevue Baptist Church and we belonged to the young adult singles. We met at a church singles game night and started talking after bowling one night a few months later. Some of the first words spoken were ‘Well, bye!” (think Tombstone). Those movie quote words brought us together through laughter at first, and then a first date. We never looked back! Loving God and putting Him first in our lives is the foundation for our relationship, marriage and journey through life. We want to help lead others to our faithful Lord. We are truly blessed! “God poured out his love into our hearts.” Romans 5:5

The Proposal

“Target practice: Shoot YES or NO”

One of our hobbies is going to the shooting range. For my birthday, Jake asked me to go out to dinner and then afterwards go over to see a good family friend, Houston. Houston has a building onsite for target practice. Houston recommended I practice night shooting. I was led into the darkened room and when he turned the light on I aimed at the target - which had the words “Will you marry me?” at the top and a big YES or NO underneath. He yelled out “read the target”, and at the same time Jake was on his knee holding a ring box asking me “Will you marry me?!” I quickly (and carefully) put the gun down and said YES! As I turned around I saw my mom and all of Jakes family there as part of the surprise! Jake had planned the setup for a couple of months and had the family in on everything. What a wonderful night that was! And nobody got shot! Lol. (Houston had taken the bullets out unbeknownst to me just in case!) “So now faith, hope and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” 1 Corinthians 13:13

Our Future

Together

We can’t wait to continue our lives together! “Above all things have intense and unfailing love for one another.” Romans 12:10 “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.” 1 Corinthians 13:4-8
