Former rail bridge spanning the Hudson River, converted to a 1.3 mile walkway. Views of the river and surrounding Hudson Highlands and (on a clear day) the Catskill Mountains.
Moderate 2.75 mile rocky trail up Storm King Mountain, with spectacular views of the Hudson River and Cold Spring New York (frequently with eagles flying over the water). Best to take the loop clockwise, to start with a short rock scramble on the way up. Hiking boots highly recommended.
From Washburn Trailhead parking lot, you can access a number of hikes. For a flat 1-2 mile walk through the woods and along the Hudson River, head across the street to Little Stony Point. For a much more vigorous hike, the Bull Hill full (5.3 mile) or short (4.3 mile) loops include views of the Hudson River, Cold Spring, and Storm King Mountain, as well as the Cornish Estate ruins.
