As of Jan 1, 2025, travelers to Israel must have a valid visa or ETA-IL approval before flying. Citizens from visa-exempt countries (like the USA) need to complete a short application and pay a 25 shekel (~$7) fee. The ETA is good for up to 2 years (as long as your passport doesn't expire during this time). Most applicants will get an email response immediately, though it may take up to 72 hours.
